The coconut bowls are gifts from nature, handmade from real coconuts that are naturally discarded as coconuts <<waste>>. With every use you help the environment and support small producers in Vietnam. These eco-friendly bowls are perfect for everything from energy bowls (breakfast and all day), to salad, rice, curry, etc.
Authentic/real coconuts are used to produce ecological and ethical products for everyday use.
Unique in nature, each coconut bowl has its own colour, shape and size. It is varnished with oil varnish. In addition, coconut is used for the production of other products such as cutlery.
I reduce waste
Every year, 50 billion coconuts are produced around the world. However, 85% of these coconut shells are treated as simple waste. While some people use coconut shells to make charcoal, most are simply thrown away. They are often disposed of by open burning, which contributes significantly to carbon dioxide and methane emissions.
To have a greener planet, each of us must try to reduce our carbon footprint. Recovering these shells helps reduce coconut waste and reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators. As a result, our coconut bowls help reduce the toxic greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change.
Unlike regular bowls and plates, coconut bowls do not require the collection of natural materials. Because they are made from fallen shells, they eliminate the need to collect and consume new raw materials, which, in turn, contribute to the conservation of natural resources. Reclaimed and reused, these coconut bowls are undoubtedly ideal for those living a zero-waste and sustainable lifestyle.
Promote Sustainability
95% of the 50 billion coconuts grown annually are owned by 10 million farmers, most of whom live in Southeast Asia. Also, most of these coconut farmers choose to discard the coconut shells, as they do not find value in them. Since ecological balance is our priority, the shells we recover come from coconut farmers who practice sustainable farming techniques. That is why our coconut cups, in a way, also promote sustainability in coconut farming.
Sustainable living means avoiding consumption and depletion of natural resources. In addition to supporting sustainable agriculture, coconut cups promote sustainability by reusing waste instead of consuming new natural resources. By using coconut shells instead of ceramics, metals, plastics and other materials, these coconut bowls avoid depleting raw resources. So these bowls fit perfectly into a sustainable lifestyle as they give a new purpose to coconut waste.
Apart from that, we believe that coconut bowl production is a form of social entrepreneurship. Since coconut farmers have an average income of less than $2 a day, making coconut bowls is also a viable way to support their livelihoods. So not only can these coconut bowls encourage sustainability, but they also help promote the livelihoods of people in a rural community in Vietnam.
Made by hand
Our coconut bowls didn’t just happen by themselves. Thanks to the amazing talents of artisans in Vietnam, fallen shells are transformed into beautifully handcrafted coconut bowls. These bowls went through a natural cutting and grinding process. They are then polished with natural coconut oil, which results in a shiny appearance.
Because all our coconut bowls are completely handmade, they do not use any chemicals. This means that they are completely safe for food preservation. This also means that the manufacture of these bowls does not involve the harmful process of producing toxic chemicals, which has harmful effects on the environment in itself.
Another advantage of making coconut bowls by hand is that the process uses significantly less energy than the mass production process of other types of bowls. Mass production has led to the exploitation of raw resources and has created harmful levels of pollution. It also continues to deplete vast amounts of energy resources, which results in more pollution, global warming emissions and other environmental issues. With handmade coconut bowls, on the other hand, you don’t have to worry about any of that.
Encourage sustainable eating and eco-friendly living
Sustainable living is not easy at all. As we are used to buying plastic items and other products made from man-made chemicals, it is difficult to live a life without these purchases. However, there is a way to make living sustainably easier and it starts with choosing sustainable products, just like coconut bowls. By surrounding yourself with sustainable choices, you can transform your environment into a more sustainable one. This results in a change in your identity and, in turn, your lifestyle. This is because your environment can influence the decisions you make and the habits you create. When your home environment is filled with eco-friendly products, such as coconut bowls, you can be much more motivated to live a totally eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle.
